bharat innovations

Since the beginning of time, curiosity and necessity have encouraged mankind to invent or to discover. The India of today is trying to rebuild as it continues its attempts to transform itself into an innovation driven economy.
Everyday so many innovations take place in India but due to lack of awareness, lack of Research and development infrastructure, lack of exposure this is innovations don't surface and many of them never even take a Commercial form and India want this to change.
The biggest Question  of today is how we can participate in the growth story of India what we can do to make a difference by our individual or collective efforts. We will sharing a few words at last. But first, let's have a look at some relevant data.
India ranked 60th in the Global Innovation index 2017 in the list of 130 most innovative countries in the world. In 2016, it was ranked 66th and in 2015 it ranked at 81.
If India wants to became an innovative driven economy, it has to encourage an innovation culture in its society and also it has to keep a better track of the grassroots innovations that are already happening but are being unnoticed. The country has recently launched India innovation index which is supposed to encourage competition between states and drive them to fix their innovation ecosystem at a local level can be achieved. In international patent and trademark filings, India is far behind the country like the USA, China & Japan.
According to PCT(The Patent Co-operation treaty) is an international patent law treaty which was concluded in 1970 with just one PCT application users can looks for patent protection in more than 150 countries instead of filing a separate application in each different country.
India Research and Development spending is comparatively low according to world Bank, in 2015 India spent just 0.63% of its GDP on Research and Development which was much lower than countries like South Korea, Japan and China.
Despite all the disadvantage India grassroots innovators have done some great work when it comes to solving problems creatively. They have come up with sustainable alternative that are meet to solve the local problems by using local resources. There are thousands of such innovators and today.I am going to talk about just a few of them.

Remaya Jose who is from Malappuram district in Kerala was just 14 years old when she developed a pedal powered washing machine that can wash and dry clothes by pedaling which is also a sort of good exercise that can be done at home.Remya had to change three buses while going to and coming from school and spend about two hours each way. As there was no washing machine at home, the chore of doing the laundry fell to her and her twin sister. So instead of just wishing futilely for a washing machine, she decided to try her hand at making one during the vacations.
